Withered Beauty

The one who created me called me beautiful,
Apple of the eyes
A vision
A sight to behold

I was young once,
Vibrant
Robust
Full of life

Then I blossomed to maturity
Dainty
Delicate
An epitome of beauty
Loved by many, envied by most

Now, I’m past my prime
Aged
Frail
Weathered
Time has passed me by

They say beauty withers, therefore I am.

How do we ever transcend from inanimate to existence without beautiful words. Nicely prompted, Kuya Nate. :)

This is a sad poem, but like others have said, the good news is that there is much more to life than what our body looks like or does. Life is an exchange. As we lose some things, we gain others. We can be grateful for both.
